Citizens of Washington State: You have another choice! Hong Tran for US Senate!

With the pathetic flip-flop of perennial loser Mark Wilson, the people of Washington State have only one more chance to elect a Progressive Democrat to the Senate Seat in Washington State. Hong Tran is a populist, a visionary, a woman of the people committed to changing the political landscape in Washington. She's ready to vote to end this insane war, to end our addiction to Mideast Oil, to repeal every screwed up "free trade" treaty presently choking our economic throats, and to defend the rights of ordinary, working-class American citizens from the onslaught of Republican greed and DLC corruption. She is the real thing, and I will continue to extol her virtues up to and beyond the August 8th election. I hope we don't have to vote for a spoiler in the General, but if Tran doesn't win, we may have to do just that. If you believe in the values of fairness, equality, and freedom, you owe it to yourself and to your community to not just vote for Hong Tran, but to join her campaign.

Go to her website, call her on the phone, conduct email interviews with her and her staff. Blog about it, shout about it, put signs in your car, in your windows and on your rooftops! If we are going to have a chance at taking this country back, we have to get active, now, before it's too late.

Also, if you belong to the grassroots working families advocacy group, America in Solidarity, call their home office today at (253) 471-1132 and urge them to offer the Pledge for Working Families to this remarkable woman. As the Education Director of the organization, I am only one vote in the Executive Board. Please help us out and pledge five hours of volunteer time this campaign season to support this and all our other candidates for public office. You'll be glad you did.

You say: "I hope we don't have to vote for a spoiler in the General, but if Tran doesn't win, we may have to do just that." And that's clearly not supporting Hong Tran. I've heard what she has to say and she's very clear that she will support the Democrat that wins the Primary. Senator Cantwell's position on some issues may be far from satisfactory, but she's 10,000 times better than any Republican.

A Democrat (any Democrat) elected to the Senate will be part of the Democratic (hopefully majority) caucus. The DLC sucks, no question, but they're not the anti-democratic, anti-Constitutional authoritarians that the Republicans have become. A spoiler vote for a third party candidate is a vote for the Republican candidate. If M!ke McSafeCo is elected he'll vote with the Republican leadership everytime!

I'm all for pushing for change, but I'm also getting tired of hearing 'throwing the baby out with the bathwater' proposals. Let's have a little perspective here, (God Damn It!).

I appreciate your passion, Steve, but as a labor and peace activist I am a Green first, and a Democrat second. As far as I'm concerned, the only reason to vote for one of the two major party candidates is if they pledge to reverse themselves on major life-and-death issues. Issues like ending the war, or repealing NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, and Preferred Nationing Trading Status with China.

You may not like it, but that's just how I vote. If Hong is able to mount a successful campaign, then I will gladly vote for her. If not, Dixon for US Senate!
