Tuesday's Election Open Thread

Here it is folks, your opportunity to sound off on the state of our election systems, the "pick-a-party" Primary, Instant Runoff Voting, and all things election-related.

You could also use this opportunity to encourage your fellow citizens to vote for whichever candidate you choose!

The current primary system is wasteful. We insist on having primaries when there are few, if any contested races. Instant Runoff Voting as implemented by Amendment #3 would be a dramatic improvement over the current system.

Yeah, I agree. Seems to me that any way to get people interested in voting is good, but if the numbers are below 50% participation, something different has to happen.

More parties, more choices, will definitely improve participation. But I think we also need to give people time off in which to vote as well as free classes for people about voting and why it's important.
